Driving to Puri is a scenic experience, especially the route from Bhubaneswar along the Konark-Puri marine drive.
Routes:
- Bhubaneswar → Puri: NH16, 60 km, 1 hour
- Konark → Puri: Marine Drive, 35 km, 1 hour (coastal road — highly recommended!)
- Cuttack → Puri: NH16, 90 km, 1.5 hours
Driving Tips:
- The Konark-Puri coastal road is beautiful — take it during daytime
- Avoid driving during Rath Yatra unless absolutely necessary; the Grand Road is closed
- Parking can be challenging near the temple; ask your hotel near Jagannath Temple about parking options
From Puri Railway Station to Jagannath Temple
Once you reach Puri Railway Station, the temple is very close:
- By Auto-Rickshaw: 5 minutes, ₹50–80
- On Foot: 20 minutes (pleasant walk if you’re carrying light luggage)
